Tierra Sagrada

In Tierra Sagrada, the viewer encounters a mountain range that transcends topography and enters the realm of the sacred. Captured in the Colombian Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta — a region revered by the indigenous Arhuaco people as the heart of the world — the landscape becomes a site of spiritual resonance rather than simply geographic record.

This work is presented in four distinct colourways, drawing from the primaries and green. Each tonal variation transforms the emotional register of the piece, inviting the viewer to reconsider not only the aesthetic properties of colour, but its power to alter perception. By shifting palette, the artist poses a subtle yet profound question: Do you dream what I dream? — challenging the assumption of shared vision and drawing attention to the subjectivity of experience.

The image functions as both landscape and metaphor. Through colour manipulation, Tierra Sagrada becomes a meditation on multiplicity — a study in how one ‘truth’ may be viewed through many lenses, each one valid. The repetition of form in differing tones reflects both the constancy of the land and the flux of our internal worlds.

Rooted in the principles of Feng Shui, this series channels the grounding energy of Earth (土 – ) and speaks to stability, rootedness, and spiritual belonging. The sacredness is not only in the site but in the act of seeing — of being present with a landscape that asks not to be conquered or consumed, but quietly honoured.

In a time where visual saturation can dull our ability to see deeply, Tierra Sagrada invites stillness. It is a call to contemplate the unseen — not just in nature, but within ourselves and each other.
